Christian + Jess

“Wrote this letter and finally decide to send it

Sign, sealed delivered for us to grow together

love has no limit, let’s spend it slow forever…”

his Side

It all started with a water bottle. Jess left it at my place back in college, and we arranged a meetup through a mutual friend to get it back. For a few days, we kept communicating through that same friend until I finally got her number. After that, we were inseparable and hung out every day, building a real friendship.

I caught feelings pretty fast and decided to pour my heart out to Jess while sitting in the backseat of her car. We didn’t start a relationship right then, but things kept growing between us.

Then came November 10-12, 2017. I took Jess on a weekend date, showing her around Chicago. That weekend changed everything , and we’ve been going strong ever since.

A water bottle brought us together.

A friendship connected us.

And love made us forever.

Her side

We met through mutual friends one day after classes.

I remember thinking he was funny and had great taste in music. He left for  a late class before I really spoke to him, but later that night I realized I’d left my water bottle. When I went to get it from his apartment the next day, he playfully refused to give it back (he swears I liked it, but I just wanted my water bottle back lol).

We exchanged numbers at some point and I admitted I had a friend crush on him. We hung out practically everyday, and built a friendship filled with long talks and Walmart runs. Eventually, feelings grew, and after some persistence on his part, we made it official.

After eight years, a big move to Chicago (insert coronavirus here lol), and an engagement ring later, I’m glad I listened to the “boy” who convinced me to take a leap of faith.

As I look at the man he’s grown to be, I love him even more today than I did when we first started this thing all those years ago.
